I am 72 and have not had much accounting experience in 15 Years and with all the information that Xero has available (which i commend Xero for) is in particular order and does not lay out each step-in order to be able to set up and process the data quickly and efficiently (and here I must again acknowledge the support staff for their assistance and knowledge) and I express this following opinion in re. What I find frustrating is that Xero assumes (from my perspective & Experience) that everybody understands the process order of setting up Xero. Xero has tried to fix this with a compact view, and has informed users that if they want to fit more data on one screen, then they must use their browsers zoom functionality, but the differential in Xero's font sizes means that this is impractical as some of their fonts become unreadable if the browser is zoomed to 80%. too much white space and not enough data on one screen. an over-complication of screens resulting in simple tasks becoming more time consuming with more keyboard strokes/mouse clicks/scrolling required to perform once simple tasks, an example being the revamp of the contacts a loss in functionality in some areas of reporting, an example being reporting using the 2nd tracking field As with any small business finance system the simplicity of the system means that some functionality is lacking in some minor areas, such as exchange rates in the inventory system, but you can generally find a work around for these issues. It also has some great functionality regarding correcting data entry errors. I've been using Xero since 2016 and overall am very impressed with how easy it is to use, particularly with the basic functionality such as bank reconciliation, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
